First Snow

Good evening everyone. This week has marked the first snowfall of the year. As is typical in the Near East, there was little warning. One moment it was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky; the next it was 20 degrees and snowing. And it kept snowing for three days. Today we had some sunshine and the snow is starting to recede a little. The weather will continue this crazy little dance for the next 3 months. Oh boy. The snow is cool, but I find much cooler is that our deployment is now 50%. There are still plenty of days left but knowing that we are that much closer to going home is a great feeling. Thank you to everyone who has sent greetings via Facebook and email. It is always nice to hear from family. I wish you well wherever you are and I hope the weather is fine.
